The Vagina Monologues

Firebird is producing a wonderful night of funny, poignant, and thought-provoking theatre to raise funds for Project Hope of the Gunnison Valley! Project Hope’s mission is to support, educate and provide confidential advocacy to individuals affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and/or human trafficking. Firebird stands with this great organization, and to that end, we’re performing Eve Ensler’s play this coming February 28th about female sexuality and empowerment. The Vagina Monologues are an iconic feminist creation written by Eve Ensler, and they are exactly that: monologues about vaginas. Written in 1996, The Vagina Monologues explore themes like menstruation, genital mutilation, consensual and non consensual sexual encounters, childbirth, and much more from women’s point of view. This is an incredibly fun, humbling and powerful experience, not to be missed.
